Should you give it away? Just because No Doubt is bundling free downloads
of their entire catalog of seven albums into the purchase of a ticket to their summer tour doesn’t mean that every business needs to give their product away. Sure, times are tough, but just because the desperate remnants of the music industry are acknowledging the devaluation of recorded music doesn’t mean there aren’t more savvy and less extreme ways for businesses to offer value to their customers. Beverages needn’t be free. Amusement parks shouldn’t distribute free passes. Still, customers deserve value propositions. Businesses must find creative ways to meet these expectations.
