It's very cool what you guys are doing. Unlike so many fast chains, TBueno recognizes that it has many consumer evangelists who are ready to engage. And explain how to eat a tostada.

Interesting points, Joe. I always forget about DVR/Tivo users because I've never been one. And you're right -- watching an event like the Oscars or Super Bowl after it happens negates your ability to comment as its unfolding, which is when the real discussion is going on. There's got to be a way for TV stations to take advantage of that...

I don't mind it at all, as long as it's relevant to me. These events might prove tough just due to the amount of content being pushed out.

Another thing that I'm noticing on these time specific "events" is that it's a way for stations to fight the DVR & Hulu and bring value back to the actual broadcast. Nobody wants to chat about the Superbowl 2 days after it happens and in the world of real time, nobody wants to hear about it 2 minutes after.
TV should really work with this and help it grow because it might just help them provide some much needed value to their sponsors.

Thanks for the great discussion, all you Googleans! If anyone is closer to the process, do you know what steps Topeka has to take in order to prove its viability -- beyond the name change and general expressions of enthusiasm, that is?

Anyone who considers Google, Ks hasn't been here in a while. The Google opportunity is just the recent movement. Through the county wide Visioning process many new and exciting things are happening with the community. I believe that all Googlens here in this "fly over" town are seeing great things on the horizon and Google fits like a hand in glove to all the current changes.

Go Google!

Most people that post negative things about Topeka, or any other city or movement for that matter, are often completely unaware of the facts. The Topeka community is very serious about bringing the Google experiment to their city.

Topeka is centrally located, it has a dependable work force, its citizens are very well educated, the economy (when compared to many parts of the country) has not suffered nearly as much over the past few years, it has a diversity of business and educational opportunities, and yes it does have a diversity of weather including some of the mildest springs and falls anywhere with some very hot summer days and cold snowy winter days.

Continue to THINK BIG TOPEKA!
